I started Pulmonary rehab back in March and it has been going really well. There was a little pause in April for the 9 days that I was hospitalized for an exacerbation, but when I got home I picked right back up. I love PR. It's great to have a motivation for getting off my bum and exercising. I feel stronger physically. I notice that finally have some muscle tone in my arms which I don't think I have ever had. I can walk longer distances now than I could before. And I have met some great people along the way. I am by far the youngest person at PR, but there is still something that we all have in common, and that makes us friends. The staff is wonderful too. I attend three times a week; Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Tues and Thurs we work on on the equipment, and on Fridays we do Chair Cardio exercises and alternate weekly between weighs and tension bands. The chair workouts are not what you would expect them to be. They are quite the workout, and then after the workouts we have group discussions. These are my favorite days because two classes are combined so we get to see everyone.
Well that's all for this post. I am sure I will post more sometime soon.

Heart Cath.
Wow, its been a long time since I've posted. But to be fair, I haven't had working Internet in a few months.
So I had my heart cath done today. When I got there, to the UofM CVC (Cardiovascular Center) I was checked in and put into a room where I was hooked up to monitors for my heart, blood pressure and O2 level. I was extremely nervous so the nurse gave me some IV Valium and then about 45 minutes later I was taken into my procedure. Once I was taken into the procedure room, which looks like an OR the doc that was performing the cath told me everything that they were going to do for me, and then injected more meds to help me relax into my IV. Now came the part that hurt... getting the lidocain injected into the area of my neck that they would be working on. NOT FUN. I'm a sissy when it comes to pain. I wasn't ready for it even though the doc told me what he was about to do. I got myself a little to worked up, so I thought that it was more painful that it actually was.
For someone who has been through so much medically, it seems I am able to handle only so little lately. I'm not sure what is going on with that, but it is definitely something that I need to work on before going through a 10 hour surgery getting my lungs replaced.

6 more days
I have quite a day comming up on Tuesday the 23rd. And it is going to start by waking up at 5:30am which I NEVER do! I have to go to my pre-evaluation appointment to see if I qualify to be on the tx list. My first app. is going to be the 6 minute hall walk. Then it is onto a Chest CT, then I will finally get to see the doc. I'm really nervous and it hasn't even began yet. I am also worried that my FEV1 may have gone down again. My lungs have been feeling pretty junky lately, and towards the end of the night it is harder for me to take in deep breaths. Which is odd considering most days I don't feel like I even need to wear my O2.
I'll keep my THREE followers posted...lol. Thanks for listening!!!~Angie

Can you lose something you've never had?
I can't seem to find any motivation to exercise. I want to. I know I need to. My walking machine is sitting right in my living room, and I still only use it once a day.
I have a terrible habit of sleeping in way to late, but I think it is due to the fact that I just don't have anything to do on a day to day basis. I do not have a job, and my boyfriend does 95% of our household chores. Maybe I should be using all that time for exercising. This weather doesn't help with my lack of motivation either. Oh how I long for warm sunny days again!!
